Levi’s looks to prevent any potential street style faux pas with two new cuts designed to positively highlight any and all sneaker silhouettes: the Hi-Ball Roll and Lo-Ball Stack. The Hi-Ball Roll falls to a cropped, tapered leg rolled at the ankle — a Levi’s first — while the Lo-Ball Stack features an extra-long inseam, giving its tapered leg extra fabric for a scrunched ankle look. Putting them straight into the mix with labels embracing logomania and overt branding, both cuts also feature an oversized red tab and back patch — classic Levi’s signatures evolved for a modern aesthetic.
More broadly, the entire Levi’s Fall/Winter 2018 collection takes cues from streetwear culture past and present mixing elements of ‘80s and ‘90s fashion with today’s looks and trends. Levi’s is embracing logomania with a range of logo-heavy tops, splashy graphics, and hip-hop inspired ‘fits alongside other denim cuts informed by nostalgia and music icons of the past. From faded ‘90s-esque 501s and high-waisted jeans to the Warp Cord lineup of stretch corduroy jeans, Levi’s hits all the bases this season as fashion becomes increasingly more varied. Rules are made to be broken and modern style icons are proving that anything goes, scrapping the style rulebook and making style more personalized than ever before.
